   Hello, guys. My topic this week is"E.S Posthumus".
 
   "E.S" is the abbreviation of " experimental sounds." The meaning of" Posthumus" is "all things past." This group is founded by the brothers Helmut and Franz Vonlichten. They mix different styles of music and form a new appearance, like orchestra, rhythm from pop music and electronic music, are the main elements of their compositions. Sometimes they use the national instruments, and the strong tempo from drums makes the music epic and powerful.
 
   E.S Posthumus is inspired by Deep Forest, Enigma and Pythagorean Philosophy. The first sentence above the article is the classical saying by Pythagorean Philosophy and it has deeply influenced E.S.

   The most important thing about E.S. is that they never write any song for movie soundtracks! How cool they are!

   I love " Nara " so much! I think it's the best song from E.S. The orchestra states a mysterious atmosphere,  sometimes is smooth, but sometimes makes people feel nervous, like you're unfaithful to your husband or wife.

Titanic

Hello, everyone.Today I want to introduce the soundtrack of the renowned movie "Titanic." I think everyone will think of the theme song "My heart will go on" when it comes to this movie. However, other compositions are as touching as the theme song.
This album was produced by James Horner. The music was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and the Choristers of King's College, Cambridge. And the vocals are Celine Dion and Sissel Kyrkjeb, a Canadian singer and a Norwegian soprano.James Horner used the Bagpipes(蘇格蘭風笛) in his compositions to make music more touching.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (臥虎藏龍)

Hello, guys. My blog's topic this week is "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon(臥虎藏龍)." It's a famous wuxia(武俠) film, and the background music has won many international prizes. 

This soundtrack is different from others.The composer, Tan Dun, cooperated with the noted cellist Yo-yo Ma. They mixed the southern classical music and traditional Tihwa music(新疆) , making the soundtrack unique and successfully convey the affection and the stimulating feeling.

The music is sometimes deep and sometimes making people nervous.When I listen to the CD from the first song to the last song, I can clearly image the scene of the movie.

This song is "A Love Before Time" by Coco Lee. I think I prefer the Madarin version than the English version.

This song gets a quick tempo and a nice rhythm so that I can concentrate when doing math. There are 3 versions："Dark Empire 1.0", "Dark Empire 2.0" and "Dark Empire 3.0." They demonstrate different style and all of them worth listening.

This is "Here Comes the King", I think everyone has already heard it before. It is the background music of the trailer "The Chronicles of Narnia：The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." It's worth to mention that "Here Comes the King" was also used for the 馬英九's propaganda film of the presidential race in 2008.

Clint Mansell

Clint Mansell is an English composer, former leader singer and guitarist of the band Pop Will Eat Itself.
He is my favorite musician, because his music can deeply hit our hearts with its mysterious melody.

The song"Lux Aeterna" is the most popular composition of Mansell's. This song has widely used in many videos like computer games or trailers. In 1996, Clint Mnsell adapted this song to "Requiem for a Dream", which was the soundtrack of the movie"Requiem for a Dream." It led to the success of making him famous.
This song may make people gloomy for the theme "drug abuse."

Clint Mansell;s compositions for "The Fountain" was nominated for Best Original Score at the 64th Annual Golden Score Awards.
